G'Day
My name is Jason and Im a Jag-a-holic.. lol..
On a more serious note. I joined this forum because my fathers girlfriend has always wanted a Jag but never got around to ever doing anything about getting one, until one afternoon during conversation about her 75th birthday I told her its about time to do something about this.. I suggested that we "just have a look" at whats available.. So many to choose from on all the usual Aussie sales sites but nothing she liked the look of.. until! We came across a 99 XJ8 with less that 100k on the clock, full spec and a colour she liked... and thats the most important bit. Phone calls were made, money changed hands and two weeks later we have one happy little old lady, who managed to get a speeding ticket on the way home.
Not being into British cars, however, I have to say its in immaculate condition inside and out and I love it. I even offered to buy it when the time that she no longer needs a large car. Instead of that I have been promised the car as a gift when the times comes. So I sort of own a XJ8. There are a few things the car needs like shocks and rear wheel bearings and as the cars future owner I'm now placed with the title of custodian, insuring that the car is in perfect running condition. So this looks like a great place to get info and advice when needed.
Before you condemn the wheel bearings, make real sure it aint the tyres. I got caught with my X300 (same set up back there) and after too many silly $$, Tyres were the culprit.
