Greetings
Just a quick hello
I am still waiting to bring my Jag home ('02 X-Type 3 Litre Manual)
I've taken a shot in the dark due the the low price ($3,200.00) because it doesn't steer of all things
I love British cars but honestly never saw myself in one due to the price/availibility issue
I understand that i'll probably burn through a bit of my hard earned cash, but why should the wife & kids have all the fun
Cheers
Gary

All the best -
Kota, welcome to the forum. I think you will find a lot of good information and I am sure with a little bit of information, we can get you taken care of. So, sit back, grab a cup of Joe and do some looking around. i"m sure we will get you taken care of.
Welcome Gary. Sounds like a bit of a recognized challenge. Better than being completely surprised. Purchase price seems to reflect there are issues with your new kitty so dig in here and I'm sure at least a few members will be able to steer you in the right direction on getting things sorted.
Thanks for the warm welcome
I feel for the young gentlman that i bought the car from...
He'd put new rotors, pads & tires all around. New battery & a new Tranny.
Then in January he's driving home & the steering just goes out....
From the sound of him, he was just tired of putting money into the pockets of the Jag dealership in Raleigh...
AAA man thought it might be a sway brace end link... i'm wondering if the steering column/shaft might be loose from the previous tranny work
I pick her up tomorrow so we'll see
Cheers

Gary, Gary, Gary. You are obviously suffering from an acute case of Jaguaritis contagiosum. This is a very complex condition that affects you physically, mentally and emotionally. I'm afraid you'll find that the symptoms will only get more pronounced once the car actually arrives (did you say that was tomorrow?) You will need to learn to take the buzz of Jaguar ownership in stride, because there really is no known cure.
Just remember that you're among friends here.

What is also frustrating is that on Monday I'm away on business for three weeks, then home for a week, gone for three more... there's a pattern here which was no problem when i didn't own a Jag.... oh well... LOL
He heh. Building post count. I did that today. I went to OT and a couple other forums just to get the 10 posts.
Now, I can't stop. Welcome from a newbie. I do want to know what you find on the steering. That does seem odd.

I'm at the Oh poop, what have i gotten myself in for stage...
the steering problem turns out to be the entire rack (three bolts?) came away from the subframe, we worked for about 3 hours tonight to get it back together, brick wall so far, we are having problems getting the rack to roll forward a few more degrees so we can line up the bolts & secure them...
Right side front sway bar end link blown apart (think the steering rack cracked it free)
stopped before we got too frustrated, son's girlfriend was chirping in his ear to come over... guess i know his priorities... lol
On the other hand; small leak at the oil pan, no leak at the TC (will inspect before driving), interior electrics seem to work, A/C nice & cold
Another bummer is that I do not have any remote key fobs... car is annoying cause i have to go in through the driver side and open the other doors even when they're unlocked...
But I've got a Jag
Cheers
