Greetings all JF members, new to the forum
Well not really new, but my first post. Have not visited the site in a few, and I can see there is alot going on (x-type forum).
I am in the process of rebuilding an 05 3.0L AWD X that had her life taken away at just 3500miles.
Attached is a pic when I got her. All the bodywork has been done, that front frame rail had to be replaced up to the strut tower. This summer she gets painted and on the road.
Nice post Bo on the guts of our transfer case. It would be nice to get a source from the uk on some of those internals if not just the seals (eg. unattainable inner seal!)

Yeah, its a labor of love...or I would have gave up a long, long time ago!

I ended up buying a second total scrapper (04 3.0L AWD) just for parts + the frame section. On the bright side, at least I have a spare engine, tranny...etc.
Here's a pic of her at the bodyshop this past summer, the projects been put on hold until the weather warms up again (-1 degrees today with a hint of the white stuff).
Aside from the metal work, I'm doing everything else (ex-tech, ex-jag parts guy). Which means a bit of customizing along the way, (add heated windscreen, powerwash, nav, etc, etc...)
