Default Greetings all from a new member/owner

Hello everybody,

Brand new to the forum as I yesterday put the deposit down on a beautiful 2002, 4 Litre, XJ8. It is in superb condition and I had a mechanic look it over before I discussed price.

I took it for a test drive and put the foot down a bit before I knew it was in Sports Mode.... It was savage. My hand was actually shaking at the thought of owning something so sublime and powerful. I felt like one of those Vegas showmen who ride around on Siberian Tigers.

Anyway, I collect it on the 26th (3 weeks) and was just wondering if there was anything I should be looking out for or aware of? I would be very grateful for any and all advice/tips as I am sure there will be some real experts around here.

On myself, I am a Marine Engineer from Glasgow. I drive a lot of diesel vans about, hence the surprise when the Jag responded! I enjoy reading history and respect the work of others and responsibility we have to those yet to come. The previous owners of this car kept it in immaculate condition and I intend to do likewise.

Anyway, I shant bore folk further.

Thanks for reading.

Rgds,

S5
