Greetings everyone
G'day everyone, looking forward to spending some time in here!
I'm a Jag tragic…like you.
It all began in the early 70's when for reasons unknown to me then, I fell in love with a '66 3.8 S Type, bought it, and took it to the hostile far north of South Australia. Such a ridiculous thing to do I was told over and over, especially because I knew nothing about cars…and even now I still wouldn't attempt anything more major than tuning the carbs on the 3.8. Sad, I know.
Not once did this beautiful creature overheat like everybody told me it would…and this is living through 5 summers when it was not unusual to have a few bouts of 4 or 5 days in a row of over C40 degree heat.
Except for when the coil wire popped out, I seriously cannot remember any time when the S type let me down. Apart from my own stupidity of crossing a flooded creek and getting caught mid-stream and having to be towed out of the water, and the time I ran the sump over a rock that I was sure I would clear (cracked sump), I can, with all honesty, say that the S type was magnificent.
Since then I have owned; an 'xj6' series3 Daimler - sensational, A 4.0L S-type - unbelievably smooth and with amazing kick-down. And now I have recently acquired a 2010 XF 5.0 - stunning, and only yesterday, I sold my wife's much loved Porsche Boxster (no sense of humour - wives, when it comes to cars) and bought a beautiful, fully restored 1966 Daimler 2.5L V8.
So, that's me, well, my cars at least. I just wish that at some stage I could afford to by a brand spanking new Jag of some kind, but alas, that's just not going to happen. Cheers and beers all.

*Personally* I think your wife got a Far better car for your wheeling and dealing. But maybe that's just me.

Ha ha thanks for the welcome. I agree with you, but I'm yet to convince my wife. I pick the car up in about 2 hrs time and I'm sure when she sees it she'll melt because she is a closet Mk2 adorer, so the Daimler won't take long to win her over.

I luv another Jag adventurer with that classic FAITH.
Jags really do rule, and we all know that. Some just take longer to get that warm and fuzzy feeling.
The Dainmler 250, MAAAAAATE, that is an awesome car. I look after one in the fleet of an elderly (old actually) long time friend.
Wife will warm to it. Mine took a day or 3 to warm to the S Type that replaced her XJ-S she had for 16 years. Still has her moments about that V12, but its fading.
