Default Greetings from the flood car area of NJ

Just picked up an 02 xj sport that had water up to the bottom of the glove box. Other than the water problems (MAJOR PROBLEMS) the car is beautiful, oh and one more thing is the former owner has lost the ignition key and I have no way of unlocking the steering column to steer the car and unlock the trans so I can push it on to a trailer. Anyway my son and i are looking forward to getting the beauty back on the road.

Welcome to the forum JRT325,

That's some project to take on. Missing keys and remotes are a regular issue here so you'll get plenty of help.

Follow this link XJ ( X308 ) XJ8 / XJR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Region section by following this link North East US - ME NH VT MA RI CT NJ NY PA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to find other members in your region.

Good luck and enjoy the forum.

I will most likely move this post to a more appropriate forum, don't know which one yet. I am still astounded at how clean and straight this car is, I hope I can do something with it.
You can't move your own posts but I can move post #5 for you to it's own new thread in X308 section if you want............?

Welcome to the forum.

If your winch is powerful enough, pull the car backwards.

The cable will take some of the pressure off the rear wheels and allow you to drag it onto the trailer.

Steering can be accomplished with the use of a trolley jack and a few good shoves.

A Jag dealer with your proof documents and the VIN will be able to supply keys.

Best of luck.

Also replied to it there to bump it up the threads. Let me know if you want a different thread title.
