Greetings from the flood car area of NJ
Just picked up an 02 xj sport that had water up to the bottom of the glove box. Other than the water problems (MAJOR PROBLEMS) the car is beautiful, oh and one more thing is the former owner has lost the ignition key and I have no way of unlocking the steering column to steer the car and unlock the trans so I can push it on to a trailer. Anyway my son and i are looking forward to getting the beauty back on the road.

Thanks for all the welcoming messages, I am still not sure what I am going to do with the wet cat that has used most of its lives, the key is my most pressing problem, like getting the car home on my trailer without being able to steer it and without the rear wheels turning, undo the drive shaft to roll and undo the steering somehow to be able steer it. I will most likely move this post to a more appropriate forum, don't know which one yet. I am still astounded at how clean and straight this car is, I hope I can do something with it.

Welcome to the forum.
If your winch is powerful enough, pull the car backwards.
The cable will take some of the pressure off the rear wheels and allow you to drag it onto the trailer.
Steering can be accomplished with the use of a trolley jack and a few good shoves.
A Jag dealer with your proof documents and the VIN will be able to supply keys.
Best of luck.
