Greetings from Montclair, CA
Hello Fellow Jaguar Friends,
I have just purchased a 2000 Jaguar XJR with a few issues. It has a rough idle, noisy supercharger, and apparently damaged rear differential. Since I do not know what I do not know, I am looking to learn and enjoy the resurrection process. Have a fair amount of mechanical aptitude and do most of the work myself. Would like to increase my Jaguar IQ. I liked the 1997 XJ8 4.0 that I owned with my brother some years ago and hope this will be an even better experience being this one is supercharged! Thank you in advance for paying it forward and I look to do the same in the future. BTW, please pardon the ignorance of a newb. Looking forward with excitement....and fear.

Hello, Ted,
Do NOT believe all the horror stories you hear about how hard Jaguars are to work on and maintain.
They're often told by old women (of either gender) who have never owned a Jaguar and don't know anyone who has.
Taking it one step at a time makes even the Nastiest job doable and does away with the Fear Factor.
I can tell you how I know all this.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.
