Default Greetings from a newbie.

Hi people. Newbie member here. Hoping to learn more about the x type I’ve just bought. It’s a 2004 2.0 S. considering it’s age it’s a remarkably good drive. However the only thing I don’t like are the various squeaks emanating from the rear. I’ve been driving an 02 Saab for the past 5 years and I am used to a decent build quality. I am determined to enjoy the Jag and look forward to learning and sharing. Regards Phil

Hello, Phil,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
I just bought a used car, 2003 (brand X), that squeaks in the rear, tracked it down to worn out sock absorbers. It's getting new ones next week.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Hi. Thanks for that. Interestingly enough I gave a couple of colleagues a lift home this morning after a night shift and the squeaking wasn’t happening when a guy was sat on the back seat. As soon as he got out the squeak was back. The colleague now has an additional temporary job as ballast whilst I sort it out. 😀
