Default Grinding rubbing sound

Tonight after a 30 mile drive home I noticed a grinding sound while turning left on an island and the when I turned left to wards home. this has only just started there is no sound when at speed or turning right. There is no vibration through the floor or peddles and no pulling to the right or left.
the noise sounds like its coming from the left rear but I cannot be be totally sure.
Does any one have any idea what this could be.

Ooo! That does Not sound good!
But it's hard to know what it might be without knowing what car. If we knew that, someone could direct you to the correct section where members familiar with that model can help you get to the bottom of it all.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Andi2610,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

A post in the
New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum is an opportunity for you to tell us about yourself and YOUR VEHICLE. Other than it is likely to be a Jaguar, you have given no hint of Model or Year either here or in your profile .......

That's more like it!

Grinding noises are usually brake related (worn pads or sticking caliper) but as it only happens when turning left, it could be a suspension issue. Identifying the precise location of such a sound is notoriously difficult for a driver and it often helps to have a passenger who is able to move and turn their head to trace it. In any event, it is likely to be a potential safety issue and needs prompt investigation. This will certainly involve having the vehicle jacked up and the wheels removed to check brakes and suspension.

If your XF is the 2007 - 2015 model, follow this https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-xfr-x250-44/ link to the X250 forum for help, advice and information. If it's the current 2015 onwards model, follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-x260-99/ to the X260 forum.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

It's all speculation until you pinpoint the corner and get the road wheel off to inspect wishbones, vertical links, hubs and brakes.
