As a first time Jaguar owner I am hoping this forum will be as useful as the forums I used in my previous incarnation as a yottie. I imagine everyone on this forum will know more than me so please be patient with a newbie. I hope to make my own contributions in times to come. Thanks for letting me in.

In the meantime I have just taken delivery of a 2007 XK with more problems than it had when I last saw it at the dealer who is 650km away from where I live. So it's down to me to fix 'em with advice from forumites. Any help will be gratefully received.
Mike

Hello, Mike,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
We're a patient lot here, as ALL of us had to start at the beginning sometime, even our Gurus.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Mike,

I can see you've already found your way to the XK/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you to all who have sent their warm welcome greetings. Such a surprise to receive them. I'll try to plough through all the guidance for new members; given time I might arrive at the end. All the best to everyone who reads this.

Mike,

I see from your IP Address that I wasn't far from your location recently. We spent September in Competa. Used my F-Pace this trip although I've also had my XK down there. Looks like there's been some desperately needed rain in the region since we returned home.

Your comment about 650 km away from the dealer struck a chord. My XK had a failed injector when we were on our way to Gaucin in 2017. Had it taken to the Jaguar Dealer in Burgos for repair and continued the journey in a courtesy car. Returned overnight four days later to collect it and had a very rapid drive back down to the coast. 1550 km round trip and a very large repair bill!

Hi Graham,
We seem to have a few things in common. Do you get down this way from time to time? I can't PM you yet as I'm too new but will get back to you when I can. Yes, we've had some rain but nowhere near enough so still doing rain dances with only limited effect. Chasing around now to try to find a battery for the XK but we're living in a two and a halfth world in this little town.
Cheers,

Hello Mike,

We had been down that way seven years running until the pandemic when we had to cancel a booked stay in Competa. This year was the first European trip since lockdown. The whole country looked parched on the journey down and I was amazed to see Lake Vinuella reservoir so low.

Good luck with the battery hunt.

Graham
