Default Hello All

I'm a newb here, previously involved with another animal brand. I'm here to try to identify this car I have inherited and then decide what I am going to do with it.

I have posted all of the I.D. numbers in a thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...54/#post706312

Welcome to the forum Mike,

Follow this link XJS - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJS section for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You may also like to visit the US Western Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/western-us-ak-ca-nv-ut-hi-wa-id-38/ to find other members in your region country.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Welcome aboard.

The "BW" indicates Borg Warner transmission, so the gate is open on which car as Norri asked.

The "7F", I am not sure, but somewhere there is a chart of engine prefix codes, I will look when i get a chance.

All in all, an inherited Jag is a bonus in my opinion, and probably well worth keeping.

Interesting problem to have! I'll be interested to lurk around and see how this unfolds. Best of luck. Welcome.

OK, found the chart.

According to it, 7F is a 4.2ltr from a 420 Jaguar from 1966-1968.

That model also ran a BW35 transmission, so that lines up with the BW you already have.

Awesome classic in anyones book, trust me.

OK, making some progress, it's a 420G. Accordingly, I have moved my thread here: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/m...34/#post707106
