Default Hello all Jag fans - new member intro and xkr 2001 owner

Hello all members,
I'm an owner of an XKR 2001 coupe model, in black with matching black leather interior and the old style 3 dials (not the lcd computer sat-nav screen) in the centre of the dash.
This was always my dream car and first Jaguar, which I saved up for years and after 9 months of searching found this model in my chosen colour combo, and have proudly owned it for the last 7 years!
It always reminded me of the E-type (which is my all time favorite car and as Enzo Ferarri said: the most beautiful car in the world!). I didn't want the extra body styling so it reminds me of the E-type!
Although it had a few cosmetic issues (which I didn't mind considering its age) it was a great runner in overall great condition.
Over the years I have kept it up in top mechanical condition, had the front end of the engine rebuilt and timing chains replaced, and all the usual maintenance - replaced coils, alternator, brakes and discs, front suspension ball joints replaced (because of the potholes in the poor condition English roads) and undersealed to protect it in winter.

Looking forward to talking with fellow Jaguar owners and hearing your stories!
Wishing all Jaguar owners the very best!
Dan

Welcome to the forum Dan,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I can see you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/uk-eire-68/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Hello Graham,

Many thanks for your reply. I'm just getting myself acquanted with the forum and appreciate the advice and links to the forum's UK region.

I do have a couple of problems with my XKR's airbag system and will post a new message as I don't seem to be able to find any users who have had the same problem, or same fault codes. No doubt someone will be able to point me in the right direction after I make my post.

I'm looking forward to speaking with the Jaguar Forum members.

Many thanks again
Daniel
