Long time lurker so thought I’d join and introduce myself and the car!
I’m 38 years old and a self employed consultant in the medical device industry. Been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember and have maybe owned about 35 cars at this point.
Current fleet is a 2017 BMW 530D xdrive touring, 2001 Porsche Boxster 2.7 and a 1996 Jaguar X306 XJR.
I have owned the Jag for about 18 months after travelling over to London for it in late 2024. Initial signs were good - an extensive history with around 20 services, previous rust issues addressed, supercharger serviced as was the gearbox. The drive up through Scotland was enlightening as it gave me a chance to get to know the car. Whilst presentable and the engine was running well, the handling was extremely wayward.
New tyres in Spring 2025 made it a lot nicer to drive but the back end was still getting very upset if you hit a bump mid corner.
Using this forum and many other sites for reference I set about ordering everything I could get my hands on for a suspension refresh. Every bush, ball joint, shocks, springs etc were all changed along with replacement spring pans, subframes etc.
I’ve only just got the car back from getting all this completed as it took me a while to find a garage in NI that was game to do the work.
Now the last thing to tackle is a slight power loss, as she is only reaching about 80% load at WOT. Anyways, enough of my dribble - here she is!
