Default Hello everyone!

I brought home a 2005 XK8 convertible Carbon Fiber Edition on Saturday. It's platinum with a black top and charcoal interior. I know the wood dash is part of the whole ambient Jaguar experience, but the CF trim looks sporty and is growing on me. All my "car guy" friends were impressed with the suede inserts.

I've been busy cleaning and shining and tracking down and ordering annoying little trim bits that were missing like the little cap on the wiper blade arm, and a top boot. Should have it shipshape soon.

I haven't had a convertible in 10 years, so I'll be enjoying the open air just in time for Fall.

Welcome to the forum 05XK8cfe,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

I know you've already found your way to the XK8/XKR tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link USA Lower Atlantic - NC SC FL GA - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Default Hi!

I am new to the forum and not quite sure how to use it (I think I just piggybacked on someone else's thread)! I am concerned about a new convertible top that was put on my XK8, can't get it to close - the shop said that the top is very tight and will take a little while before it will start to close on it's own? Does that sound right? He said to manually close it but low and behold, the allen key is missing.

Where is a good place to buy parts for the XK8 (1999)? I am in need of several items and am hoping not to have to go to a dealership to get them...ie., rear view mirror, console top, shift knob, covers over the seat belt bolts, ...any suggestions?

Thanks!
