Hello Everyone: New Poster
Hello, everyone. I am an (old) owner of a 2001 XJ8L & a 1974 XJ6L. I also have a 1994 Miata and, the mule, my 2006 Subaru Outback turbo. I also sail, having a 1994 Hunter Legend 40.5 sailboat and partner in a 1996 Playcraft 24' pontoon. The Miata and '01 XJ my wife will claim as hers, and she is pretty possessive of the sailboat too.
I have owned Jaguars for over 30 years. This affliction started with my first car when I was 14, a 1951 MG TD. I also had a Triumph Spitfire, Sunbeam Alpine, Fiat 1500 Spyder and, of course, lots of domestics including two 1965 Mustangs with V8's and 4 speeds, one a convertible. My wife also had a 1976 XJ6L she owned for 25 years, selling it in 2006. The XJ8 was a surprise for her and it is a match in color and interior to her 76 except 25 years newer. Picked it up this year with 46K original miles. I have had the 74 XJ6 for 31 years
Anyhow, I suspect I will lurk around here a while to figure out what's what. Currently, the 74 XJ had carbs overhauled, hoses & belts, a front end rework and rebuilt steering rack installed. She has a Series lll trans and there is now a grinding with load which I incorrectly thought was a bad rear trans mount. Now I think it's internal. The 01 XJ has a (used) back up module and antenna on my bench to install. With all these toys, I don't always have the experience or time to do everything, but if I couldn't do a lot of it, I sure couldn't afford to own them. I expect I will be using the search engine on this site to look over others' postings ( I already have).
See ya around!

welcome to the forum - you will find plenty of info and support here and even some non-Jag stuff. It is the best tool in a Jag owner's tool box. You can add a signature using the User CP link in the upper left - recommend adding model and year to you sig - makes it easier to get the right answers to questions.

...my signature and photo. Thanks for the direction. I also checked out the Inland Empire Jaguar Club to see if they are still around. I joined years ago but never attended an event since my cars hibernate over winter and the location is about 80 miles from me. I sent them an e-mail to see if their October concours is still on.
Thanks for the welcome and guidance.
