Default Hello from Florida

I currently have a 1998 XJ8 Vanden Plas with 50K miles. I bought it used from a private seller that owned it for 13 years. I am slowly restoring it. It is not in bad shape just shows signs of wear. This is my second Jaguar the first was 2013 XF. I decided I like the older ones better.

Welcome.

There is a lot of this "backing up" going on, and I agree somewhat.

That's Quite a step backward! I agree, newer cars have no Soul, for lack of a better word. They certainly don't have Personality and most can't be distinguished from any other unless you can see the badge.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Years ago you could tell by just seeing a car what kind it was. I agree you never had to look for a badge.
Thanks

Welcome to the forum fhc702,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

No mistaking the X308 is a Jaguar. Recent designs could be from any of the major manufacturers as there is so little to distinguish between the shapes.

Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
