Talking New member....well not new really......

I joined back when I was shopping for a Jaguar but never got one and kinda disappeared. But I am back and now have a 1995 XJ6 British Racing Green Vanden Plas. Unfortunately due to a dead battery and having to jump start it, the lady was able to hide the fact it is a hard startin kitty! So tomorrow I call the shop she use to take it too. Only been able to drive it a little. It runs great once it is started, but getting there is not easy lol It needs some work, but I expected that, only paid 1600 for it. I do have to say the time I have driven it, I love it!!

Welcome back to the forum Katt Marrs,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Save yourself a lot of grief by fitting a new battery a.s.a.p. Jump starting a Jaguar the wrong way can easily
damage sensitive electrical components.

Follow this link XJ XJ6 / XJR6 ( X300 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X300 forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Western Region forum by following this link US Western - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

The battery, turns out, is fine. I think she ran it dead trying to start it. I talked to the Jaguar mechanic she recommended today and I am taking it in tomorrow. With luck it will be fixed and not kill my pocket book lol

Well got a call from the shop today. It is the fuel pump. 600 total, ugh. Good thing I love Jaguars.

Unusual. A failing fuel pump normally delivers reduced pressure before stopping completely.

Hope so. It's fuel tank out to replace the pump (or pumps on the SC) which is a major piece of work.

Keep us posted.
