J Ford is my name and I really hope someone can help me out I have an xjr an I really need an ecm,I bought it 5years ago for 4g an I put aleast 3g in for safety an whatnot,any long story short I good really busy with work an other things,an had had any time to do anything to,so my dad trying to be nice though he'd fire it up and let it run to get battery charged etc.well be he's a senior an a pretty busy man him self he forgot about it,an it ran out of gas an battery died, hasn't ran since,I've gone through Evey wire relay mdual etc an it turns out it's 99% sure it's the ECM, well that was 4 5 years ago.ive bin looking ever since.i found 1 in Europe but they wanted 1500 for it an didn't even garnitee it.i got a call last week I have to get it out of wer I stored it.will long story short this is my last shot if no 1 here can help I'm going to take it to scrap yard,my email is axleford1@gmail.com please help thxs

I suggest the XJ6/XJR (X300) Tech Section will have the answer/s.
ECM failure is very low in the big plot.
I suspect the fuel pump/s due to running dry on fuel, they do not like that at all.

I agree with Grant. Running out of fuel and then flattening the battery is most unlikely to affect the ECM. It IS extremely likely to destroy the fuel pump.
