Hello! I'm a new Jaguar XKR owner!
Hello everyone. I am the new owner of a 2008 XKR 4.2 Portfolio edition that I luckily picked up recently with ~25000 miles.
Though the saying goes "It's not the time, it's the mileage", it does not apply to this car. Time has not been kind as it has several issues I need to take care before it seems like
a car with 25000 miles. It will require full bushings and ball joints in the rear suspension (rubber seal breakdown) as well as a water pump replacement (seal). At a later date, I will also address the leather dash where it has been shrinking and pulling away from the substrate, most likely due to the Texas heat and the lack of care.
Once completed, it should be good to go and I look forward to driving it. I am new to the Jaguar brand, but not new vehicles as I do all my own work including some of the more advanced work.
One reason I purchased a Jaguar was this forum and its fantastic members. I thoroughly researched the car and what it takes to maintain it and this form has been awesome in providing the information to address all the known issues with the car and some good workarounds (i.e. duckbill AC drain).
I look forward to chatting with everyone and will be posting some questions in the Modern Jaguar X150 forum.
Thank you!

Hello,
Congratulations on your First Jaguar!
If the car has not been cared for, you're right, all the rubber bits will deteriorate into their original molecular structure; Dust!
But by the time you're finished making everything right, you and your car will be well and truly Bonded.
