Hello from Las Vegas
I just purchased a 2003 XKR w/ 60k mi. and will be flying out and picking it up for a 1000+ mi road trip home ! I am new to Jaguars, but building, maintaining and restoring cars has been a hobby for a long time.
I currently own a few other 'hobby cars'; 1968 MGC GT, 1968 MGB GT, 1957 MGA.....and a few others.....
Anyhow, I look forward to this great shared resource (forum) and hope that I can also make good contributions !
Thanks all,
Joe Z

Welcome to the forum Joe Z.
Great vehicle you are picking up, be careful of the poe-poe on the ride home!
There was an S Type member that had a 1,000 mile trip home that flew out drove home. He posted pictures of his car with landmarks, gas stations and bars etc... Quite the story.
Have fun!

Thanks for the welcome all. I will certainly take some photos along the way.
I haven't done a good road trip in quite a long time, so am looking forward to it.
Also, yes, 03-06 XKR Coupes are just not that plentiful ! Low production numbers and all... seems every time in the last year or so that I have been looking, finding my top color picks led me to high mileage cars. So, to find one in nice shape with 60k at a good price, makes it worth the the road trip. I've made sure to activate the 'roadside assistance' part of my insurance plan, and slipped a clean credit card or two into my wallet I do think that with the exception of a few cars from the 60's, the XK8 / R from 1997-2006 has got to be the most beautiful car I've ever laid eyes on ! I am thrilled to finally have purchased one for myself !
Cheers,
Joe Z

Jim,
Thanks. It looks to be a great site. I will take some pictures of the car and the road trip, post them when I return.
The tech info here is really awesome. I prefer to do my own work, so very very useful.
I think the first order of business is to order Auto Enginuity code tool and Jaguar package.
Best way I can se to be informed of what's going on with the car. Glad so many knowledgable folks are around and happy to share info. Can't wait to take possession of the XKR !
