Default Hello From Madison !

Hello,
I have to do my first post in the approximate color of my first Jaguar.

First time Jaguar owner. Spent the last 16 years with a Range Rover 4.6 HSE, judging from the read first post, and dealer names, it appears like this could be a similar experience. But as I say .. you only go around once, you might as well do it with some style.

As I had to tell my father ... "you don't get the same stores driving a Cadillac, as you do an English car."

So I have two initial questions right off the bat.
With Range Rover they had a Rovacom CD that basically exploded the whole car gave you how to fix anything and the part numbers. Is there such a thing for an XK8 ? Where might one get it?

Of course the popular - what does the VALET button do?

Hats off to JimC64, I have admin a lot of Vbulliton sites and this one really looks good.

I look forward to my Jaguar experience, getting to know some of you, and bugging you for advice.

Hasta

Welcome to the forum E..;,

Lucky you didn't buy a white one.

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Look for threads on JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System - the Workshop Manual) and JEPC (Jaguar Electronic parts Catalogue).

The Valet switch is for valet parking. I believe this is some lunacy carried out in the US where you hand over your car to a complete stranger and allow them to drive away in it. The Valet switch locks the glove box and luggage compartment and the Valet key doesn't allow access to these.

Follow this link XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the US Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-midwest-39/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Welcome.

Graham has answered the Valet switch thing, and the parts and service downloads.

Have fun.

This download XJ-X308_Workshop will cover my XK8 or is just for XJ?
Is supposed to be
JTIS in pdf?

If it covers all models has anyone tried to load a Zip file of JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information System - the Workshop Manual) and JEPC (Jaguar Electronic parts Catalogue) that could be downloaded and ripped to CD? Now that they are using a different system.

JTIS is the best resource for your XK8/XKR but some member's prefer PDF's. The complete JTIS is available as a free download through Jim Lombardi's thread in General Tech Help:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/g...rchives-65926/

If you don't want the complete JTIS, he has individual model sections.

PDF's for both Workshop Manual and Parts Catalogue are available through the FAQ thread:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...ts-data-29800/

Jaguar Dealers use TOPIx which is the online resource for both Workshop and Parts. It is available to anyone but chargeable.

https://topix.jaguar.jlrext.com/topi...x-l3P.prs72697

Rates are high but time can be purchased by the hour.
