Hello,I am.alex ,I am a nurse and this month i decided i wanted a nice "old school car"
looking over and over at cars ,suddenly saw the nicest car ever (in my opinion)an Jaguar XJ 4.2 petrol from 2003 Black with a nice rear end😁.I decided straight away I have to go and look at the car and hopefully will be in good condition, gearbox, engine....which it was I an bought the car❤ .Now being an 16year old not expecting to.be new ,but engine is ok,gearbox ok,paint ok..overall in very good condition in my opinion. Now the bad bits....rear parking sensors not working...had a look and they make the tick noise and front ones as well.Front ones were working at times....inwill clean all the connections and wires,and hopefully willl work again. Another thing and maybe someone can help me ..in the compartment next to steering wheel inhave found a small swich which I don't know what is doing....the car is having a dashboard camera but the switch is not related to that and I am wondering if somebody can help me in relation to this. Also any advices regarding on main issues with the car or any tips how to maintain the car in good condition are more than welcome. Thank you.
I had a black X308 - the previous model. The colour really suits the all the XJ's but they have to be washed twice as often as any other colour. The switch is clearly aftermarket on an X350 and could be an isolator to prevent the engine starting in the event of attempted theft. If it appears to do nothing, it could have been disconnected by the previous owner. Name and Address will be on the V5C Registration Document. Contact the PO with an enquiry.
