Hello, new member looking to buy in a few days
Just a quick introduction here. I was ĺooking for a new daily driver after my old Chrysler Sebring died a couple of weeks ago and discovered an ad for a 2001 XKR convertible for sale just at the upper limit of my price range. A Jag? Me?
I went out and looked and it, talked to the owner, and then talked to his mechanic for a few minutes. The mechanic confirmed that there is definitely some work to be done (which explains the low price tag), but he wants to take a full look at it after the weekend to give me a full list of what needs to be done before I take the big step of buying it.
My fingers are crossed. It is really a pretty car, and it felt very comfortable (which is very unusual for me), so I am hoping it is something I can afford and enjoy.

Welcome to the forum Tara,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.
When I saw your post I wondered if this was an XJR (four door) or an XKR (two door) but the "convertible" settled all doubt.
The "needs some work" covers a wide range of possibilities. If you post the list, members with the same model will be able to help.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xk8-xkr-x100-17/ to the XK8/XKR forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
You can also visit the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-lower-atlantic-nc-sc-fl-ga-66/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums. I hope the XKR checks out and you are soon the owner.
Graham

Oops! Pardon the typo and thank you for letting me know. Yes, a 2001 XKR convertible. Now I have to go back and fix that because it will bug me incessantly.
And thank you for the welcome, as well.
