Default Hello from San Francisco Bay Area

Greetings fellow Jaguar enthusiasts! My first jag was a S-Type-R which, I boosted up to about 420 hp (intake, exhaust, smaller pulley). Next came the XKR, then the XFR and now the XKRS. Yes I like Jaguars. Jaguars are not an easy cars to drive. You have to treat a jaguar with care or else you will find the closest ditch very quickly. I have taken three drivers courses, Bonderaunt, Jag R School and a private course at Spring Mountain in Nevada. I completely dislike BMW and Audi drivers and blow them away every time one of them tries to provoke me but only if the driving conditions allow and if there is nobody else in the car. The XKRS handles far better than the XKR. The XKR is not balanced right and wants to spin at the slightest indiscretion with the go pedal. They have fixed that with the XKRS it just sticks. The XFR is a nicely balanced car. I would love to see a XFRS! Has anybody noticed that the stereo in the XKRS doesn't sound nearly as nice as in the other cars? It's way too treble! I have seen that complaint in reviews and from a fellow XKRS owner. Actually not the owner but his son noticed it. Peace

Hi and welcome, drc. I am glad that, with
all this Jaguar experience, you are joining our
ranks! That is an enviable portfolio of British
thoroughbreds.

I think you'll find that the guys on here are
super-helpful, and everyone is friendly. I
have learned a lot about my car through this
forum.

Your home subforum for now, I guess, should
be XK / XKR - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum.

Check out what current S-Type R owners are
doing right now, performance wise while you're
at it.

Once you have spent a few days on the forums,
and made 10 posts, you can post some pictures
of the XKR-S... Please do! What a machine.

I disagree about the "treble-heavy" exhaust...
it is a matter of opinion of course, but it can
make a Ferrari sound like a limp-wristed
fuel sipper in comparison.

If you have any tech questions, please
put your car info in your signature so everyone
can help you more quickly.

Welcome,

Ian

Welcome to the forum.

Good to have you with us.

Just me, but I'd listen to the car rather than the stereo.

Is your XKRS black? I've only seen one on the roads near me and it was a black one. If so then thank you for obliging me when I waved at you on El Monte the other day and gesticulated you to drop the hammer. It was a sweet experience seeing and hearing the car take off like a scalded cat! I hopped on 280 and daydreamed about how I could get myself one. Anyone want to buy a kidney?

Hey Tony,

No mine is metallic gray almost charcoal. The black one is owned by another fellow whom I have had the pleasure of meeting. I was pulling out of a parking lot as he was pulling in and we both stopped and stared at each other in diselief. We pulled over and talked for a while. He bought his a couple of weeks before I bought mine. He actually had the dealer line four of them up out in the sun, one of which, was the one I bought a couple of weeks later. I thanked him for not buying the gray one cuz I love the color. Pretty funny, how often are you going to see two XKRS' at the same time other than on a dealer lot. Cheers!
