Hello! Silver old X350
Hello Jaguar Forums!
Not sure what to say, been pretty new here and i want to figure somethings out with the Jaguar XJ8 that i have had some issues with. Its done 254 000 km, and i would be lying if its not showing its age. Theres a few dings and scratches, but from far away you barely notice any big problems. You can take a look at the (brief) journey ive documented here on VinWiki
https://web.vinwiki.com/#/vin/SAJEA71C14SG12596
(Hopefully thats not considered abusing another site)
Biggest Issues:
Right now i have an issue with the rear side shocks. Ive had the front shocks changed in February (among other things), since the car was previously sitting for 3 years before that. i am looking to get the rear ones converted to struts.
I also have fuel mixture too lean on both banks, but i havent had a chance to get a look at that. Ive tried running some flush with a full tank, that would work until maybe around the 3rd fill up where it might come back. Personally i think it might be a fuel pump problem, but i dont know quite for sure
Minor Issues:
Rear light electrics are a bit funky. Previously the left indicator would not indicate the left indicator light, but instead the right indicator light and the left rear fog light in that order. Ive had a man to get that (partially) fixed. Instead now, when i put the car into reverse and indicate left, the then i would get a indicator fault on the dash, and the car wont indicate properly. Same thing happens when i use the rear fog light, except i dont get any indicator warning.
The paint seems to bubbling around the car
At this point in time, i honestly dont know what i might want to do with the car. its been in the family since 2013, sitting in a garage from 2016-2019. it would deeply sadden me to get rid of it, but i also dont want to put so much money into it (the curse of British cars 🙃. If i can get the shocks done for cheap, i might keep it for a little while.

Welcome to the forums askmarcoanything,
Reading through the list, I didn't find anything too worrying (as in $$$'s) until I got to "paint seems to bubbling around the car". Paint or corrosion issues on an aluminium body can get very expensive.
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-x350-x358-28/ to the X350 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
