Default Hello from Texas! New member Kris, here.

Hello everyone!

I'm Kris, and my Jaguar is very special to me. My best friend in the world developed cancer and his medical bills began to pile up. His aunt passed away and he inherited her 2005 Jaguar X-Type, so he immediately put it up for sale to help with his medical bills. I loved my friend, and I have always admired Jaguars, so I bought it from him. Very soon after, he passed away. Now this Jaguar is a very special and treasured link to my best friend, and though I'm not a rich man, I do whatever is necessary to maintain it in order to honor my friend. She's at 136k miles now, so for the past couple of years I've been undertaking a gradual overhaul, you could say! This forum has been absolutely invaluable in helping me do that, and I am very thankful for everyone here who has offered their help and solutions to people over the years :-)

Welcome to the forums Kris,

Sorry to hear about the cuircumstances that led to you becoming a Jaguar owner but pleased to know the forum has been useful in maintaining it.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the US Southwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-southwest-37/ to find other members in your region.

I've added vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. If you want to change these, go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome Kris. I too recently lost a friend who I used to race with. We both drove similar Toyota Supras, but he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease about fifteen years ago, had to stop driving due to the tremors and sell his car. In lieu of a traditional funeral during this pandemic, his wife has planned a "drive through" memorial reception for this coming Saturday and asked his friends and family to come in sports or classic cars. I know he'd have liked that. I'm sure I'll probably think of my old friend every time I drive my Supra from now on.
