Default Hello from Toronto!

Hello everyone!

New to the forum.

Thanks to my wife's generosity and good taste, I'm now driving a black XF-R with red interior. Pics posted in my profile under the album name, Love Affair: XF-R.

We still haven't decided on a name for her (the car) and its proving a fun exercise to find a name that's befitting. Our last car was simply named, Lexi.

Would love to hear some of the fun names that you guys have come up with for your Jag!

Looking forward to learning and participating on here.

Cheers!

Hi and welcome from a fellow Canadian and Ontario resident! There's lots of us here, mostly in the GTA.

My sig has a link to our dedicated regional section, please stop by to see what's going on locally.

Here's a link to the tech section for your car:

XF and XFR ( X250 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

As for car names, a long time customer and friend in Northern Norway named Dagmar spent years getting an ancient XJ6 back on the road. I always got a silent chuckle with his pronunciation 'Yagvaaar', so our S-type has been nicknamed 'Dagmar' in his honour.

Mikey,

Thanks ever so much for the warm welcome and sharing that great story!

Looking forward to meeting "Dagmar" at some point in the future.

Appreciate the links - I'll certainly check them out.

If Leaside-Bennington is familiar to you, that where we are.

Best,

Declan

Graham,

You've got a gorgeous XK in the pic there, mate.

Thanks for the signature pointers. Updates forthcoming per your recommendation.

From one married gent to another, I'd suggest you prepare an answer in advance for your wife just incase she happens to ask sharply after reading your innocently laid open post: Graham, what do you think he does for his wife for her to buy him a Jaguar…? (Been there before myself - Cheers!)

Hello, how nice of your wife to buy you such a car.
You'll find a name soon enough, about the time you bond with the car.
Welcome from ElinorB.

Allen,

Good to e-connect. Thanks for your note. Pics in album on my profile. From what I understand, new members are restricted from some site content (viewing images etc.) until the "qualifying period" has elapsed.

Check out the below link for more details when you have a sec:

Would love to see your 2013 XFR-S black beauty. Probably puts a smile on your face just thinking about her. Have you taken her out on the track yet?

Hi jagxkr1010,

Lydia D sounds - devine! Thanks for sharing that great story! My love affair has just begun with my FX-R so inspiration is at the door, I'm sure.

Mind you, Lydia Pense's vocals are quite inspiring too - I've gotta play, "I'm a good woman" for my wife. Thanks for that great track!

Not yet Headed to the dragstrip first (end of October). Most of the circuit track racing here is booked up for the month and I have to get "instructor" time to get on the track solo(sigh). But soon...very soon...

Yes, it is a blast to drive and look at

As long as Ive had Lydia I've always used Zymol polish to give her a great shine. Being metallic Anthracite (believe that's the correct jag color specification) a good finish is always important. Any feedback on other products that would you all feel may work better than Zymol? I'm always looking for new beauty products for Lydia!
