Default Hello from W.A state

Hi everyone. So I'm new to Jaguars, but am a big fan of them. So I'm building a model T hot rod and I was offered a 2002 X-type rear end. I just have to pull it out, but I've little mechanical experience do far.

I've looked, but I can't find any step by step info on how to remove this from the car. If you know of any good videos or other online instructions on how to do this. I'd be very appreciative. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Hillbilly,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

It could be easier to see from the diagram than it does when you're lying under the vehicle.

(click on the image to enlarge it)

To remove the complete assembly, it looks like 2 shock absorber top bolts, 4 knuckle mounting bracket fixings and 4 mounting bush bolts.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

You can also visit the US Northwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/us-northwest-64/
to find other members in your region.

Good luck with your preoject and enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome to the forums.
Why don't you strip the rat rod to fix up the Jaguar?
Enjoy the drive.
