Hammer bashing is locally called Percussive Adjustment and is a time honored manner of smacking a machine back in line.

You'll find lots of help in our X-type section for your Jaguar problems.
Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Hello & welcome , nice to see you here . Don't know a lot about X Diesels , as I'm not the worlds greatest enthusiast as far as oilers are concerned.

just to let you all know, thanks for the warm welcome

I have fixed the jag (crank position sensor wire trapped in the gearbox!!)
sold it and bought a Merc E 270 cdi which I have grown to hate in only 48h

its up for sale and I 'm looking for a cheap S type 2.7 oiler

Why oh Why did I lose faith and buy a Merc, No Soul, and not a nice place to sit while I drive about

I will let you know how I get on ( if anybody see's me buying an Audi please stop me)
