Default Hi All

After posting a question that's now in the X Type forum I was also recommended to post a little something here, so here goes.

I'm now on my second X-Type, which I've had since 2010. The current one is an 08 plate 2.2d Sovereign in dark grey. Prior to that I had an 02 plate 3.0 litre petrol. I have to say that the diesel was a bit sluggish after that one, but nowhere near as thirsty.

I've already ordered an XE, but have a while to wait for that! Still very happy with the X-Type, and to be honest I think it got a bit of an unfair ride due to its association with the Ford Mondeo. It's still a Jag, and it's still a good car.

I remember shortly before selling my first Jag (which I only got £2k for through part exchange - it did have 100k on the clock though), I went to see a client. He was driving something like a Vectra or Mondeo - can't remember which, that was a couple of years old. His opening comments were "you're doing alright, you're driving a Jag". Little did he know that his car was worth several times the value of mine, but I guess that's why we all drive them .

Yes, Martin you're Absolutely right!
The first time I drove my Ancient Jaguar into the parking lot, all my friends made comments like, "Did they come into some money?"

Not a single car in that lot (all less than 10 years old) could be bought Used for what we paid for my 40 year old Jaguar. I'm convinced it's the Mystique of times past.

As you say, they make us Unique on the road and in parking lots.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forum Martin,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

The Press unjustifiably damned the X-Type even before it went on sale just as they had done with the XJS years before. Nevertheless, both models have a loyal following and become more appreciated as time passes.

I can tell you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum because you've responded to my request so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the UK & Eire Region forum by following this link UK & Eire - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.
