Default Hi from France !

Jean, in France during winter, in Canada in the summer.

I used to have some Jags, ( MK2, XJ'S ), the last one was an XJS 4 litre bought in Florida ( 80 000 km, in pristine condition, no leaks ! ), I sold her reluctantly because of the ( very ) poor condition of the roads in Quebec, denifinitely not the right place for a big cat. I am presently in France and have an urge for a Jag, a XJ, probably a X300 or 308, since I don't know much about " modern " Jaguar, I am asking for a piece of advice, which one are the most reliable? What do I have to check ....and so on ?

I suppose a 1 owner with a full history, lots of bills is a good opportunity.......

Welcome to the forum Jean,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Certainly is ...... if only you could find one! I travel north to south and back across France twice a year and any Jaguar is a rare sight.

I've had a 1996 X300 and a 2001 X308. Both great cars. The X308 is naturally more technically advanced (and also more powerful) but the X300 has a better reputation for reliability.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ to the X300 forum and this one XJ XJ8 / XJR ( X308 ) - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X308 forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top of each is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome.

I also tick the X300 box for reliability and simplicity.

Good luck.

You'll get a much better deal over here but check the Europe Region forum for import requirements if you're not familiar with importing UK vehicles to France.

Thanks all !

X 300/308 will wait, I've found my daily, a X type 2 litre, 2 owners, in excellent condition but I keep an eye on a XJR ( X300 ) and a Xj 3.2 litre sport ( X308 ), I'll be in the UK on friday to bring her back home.

You certainly didn't waste any time.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
