Default Hi from NW Minnesota

Hi All- New old guy here, purchased '02 X400 2.5 automatic for wife last year. AWD is perfect for this area as she commutes 450 mi. a week. Electrics and electronics are a bit frustrating sometimes, and the closest JLR dealer is Mpls/St. Paul (Twin Cities to we locals). We've been using Cooper Mastercraft tires, tire shop in city she works in picks up and delivers. Radio was locked when purchased, phone calls and web searches were a bit of a goose chase- I was going to pull radio to get S/N's from it and for no good reason and without looking, punched in four digits- looked at screen, saw 0000, and the welcome screen came on, then the radio. Don't know if that would work for anyone else, but I hope Twin Cities JLR doesn't just have the shop boy punch in that code for their $199.99/HR flat rate ! FWIW, rev limiter kicks in at 125 mph, we have lots of straight empty roads here. wilco40

Welcome to the forum wilco40,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

You're very unlucky to have a coded radio in the US. Only five US members I can recall have reported having them fitted. Pleased to hear you found a zero cost option to unlock it.

I can see you've already found your way to the X-Type tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.
The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Mid West Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/usa-mid-west-il-ia-mi-mn-mo-oh-wi-39/
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
