Default Hi from the Rutland / Lincolnshire border

Hi Everyone
I acquired my 1998 XJR about two months ago....
I was looking for something different to run around in whilst my van was off the road, my Fiancée had suggested getting something with a little bit more luxury and less rust than my van....I wanted something that I hadn`t had before and with plenty of power and a V8 engine....

Trawling the `bay for that something different and the Jaguar XJR popped up, was just in my budget and ticked all the boxes.

What a car! awesome power, beautiful ride quality, and handles pretty good for a big `un!

It was just going to use it for a while, then sell it, but I`m enjoying the car so much I can see it being a keeper :-)

I wish I had found XJR`s earlier, they have got to be the biggest performance car bargain out there :-)

Welcome to the forum, the prices are a well kept secret with owners so non-believers think they are expensive(lol). And leave all the good cheap cars for us.

Hi there,

Welcome to JaguarForums - I see Graham has given you some pointers to the best places to start here with us, so I won't replicate what he has said. You are very welcome here, and will find us to be one of the friendliest groups of Jaguar fans you will find anywhere. Second hand Jaguars are one of the biggest surprises out there to people.. same as myself - my first Jaguar was an XJ8 Sport - a complete bargain basement car, but luxurious and incredible for the money - and now my wife has discovered I can't be in any other make of car without pining for a Jaguar lol
I hope you continue to enjoy your car, and your time with us.. there is a great wealth of knowledge amongst the membership here, and if you get a chance to go to any of the UK meets you will get to put names to faces and cars, and have some great days out showing off your new car with other Jaguar fans :-)

How many times have we read such a story in here! "I only planned to sell the car until I drove it and now I'm hooked."

Welcome to Real driving!
And welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Yep.. some of us such as myself are late starters but yes that first Jaguar.. starts as as one of those outlandish ideas - could I possibly afford to buy or run one? Next thing you know you are hooked and no looking back :-)
