Highest mileage x-type?
Hello all, Thanks for this space. I've been reading tremendously for the last 7-8 days on here. I've scrolled through the first 18 pages of threads. It's been a big help. I'm a new owner of a 2006 x-type 3.0 sedan sport. It has 223,437 MILES on it. It's actually in decent shape. Little rust on bottom of all doors. Some fasteners and brackets have some decent rust. But the frame, bones and components are in good shape. I didn't buy it. Was given too me. Was given too my cousin who gave it too me. It was owned by a older gentleman that bought it new. He liked golf, my cousin liked golf, my cousin plumbed his entire house. So the gentleman gave the car to my cousin after payment as a "hey do you want this?". He had the oil changed every 3500 miles. I literally have 100,000 miles worth of oil change paperwork with dates, every 3500 miles. Gear boxes and transmission i'm not certain on maintenance history. But theres no obvious damage. I plan to change all fluids and lubricants asap. It currently sits at the stage of it needs all gaskets that hold air and oil pressure to be inspecred and replaced. There are obvious signs of original hoses and gaskets with 220,000 miles on them. I like the car, its comfortable with the leather and suede seats. I believe it is the highest optioned sport model available. So like a fool I'm going to try and save it. Ive spent $200usd so far on maintenance stuff. With another $800usd of gaskets, plugs, coils, hoses, sensors on the way. I've got to still sort through the suspension as it has bushings and joints that are over due for replacement. I'm just hoping to fix the 0171 and 0174 and 0443 codes for now and get the suspension updated in the next 2 weeks. Thanks for the forum and the knowledge. I will do my best to search out answers before posting. As it looks like most things have been sorted out. Best regards, Camo

I don't know why the 1st post had no spaces. I re posted because if I saw that first post of word salad I wouldn't read it hahaha.
I have no idea how to edit my posts on this forums layout. Maybe I don't have permission yet?
Either way, thanks for the info and I'm happy to be here.

Hello, Camo,
Congratulations on your "new" Jaguar X-type!
So far, you only have $1000 invested in this car, which seems to run but needs care. (Go Figure for a 20 year old car neglected for the last 10!)
In these parts, a runner of Any sort (some are pretty grim) fetches at least $5K!
You could spend quite a lot more before you hit that mark and still come off Winner!
