Howdy folks, I've been lurking on here a while and figured I'd start by staying hello. I live in Albuquerque and have been looking for a XJ6 S3. My father has always wanted one and I'd like to find something down here and drive it back up to Chicago as a surprise. You know, something to say "Sorry I was a pain in the *** for all those years, now here is a new car."

Hey Johnny, welcome aboard! You've got a great heart, Dad will love your gesture.

If you find anything in the Dallas-Ft Worth area you want me to scout for you, just reply back here and I'll do what I can...though I'm not exactly an XJ6 expert (I presume that's an x308? or x300? See, I don't even know what an S3 with a 6-cylinder is.

Welcome to the forum Johnny,

A great gift and a great drive.

As you've been browsing as a visitor for a while this probably means you already know your way around but if not, follow this link XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the XJ6 & XJ12 Series I, II & III tech section for help, advice and information.

You may also like to visit the US Southwest Region section by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/southwest-us-az-tx-nm-ok-37/ to find other members in your region. They may know of any Series III's available.

Enjoy the forum.

Graham

Thats quite an offer! I've been keeping the search within a 500 mile radius or so of Albuquerque. I've been learning about Jaguars in general for the last few months but started actively looking after the first of the year. I let a few slip away early on that I didn't realize were screaming deals...live and learn. I'm ready to pounce on something good now. I'll add Dallas into my search but I've gotta few right now that I'm tossing around. Kind of a "if it hasn't sold by next week...he'll take a properly low offer" mentality.

He'd love to hear that, the poor guy just had quintuple bypass surgery last week.

Nice to hear that rather than the words of my MG owning friend whom I quote:

"Giving a vintage Jag as a gift is like giving a pony to your worst enemy's kid"
