Default I'm of Those Wagon Weirdos

Hello!

Just took delivery of my first Jaguar. It is a 2018 XF S Sportbrake now living in SWFL. Took delivery from a dealer in NC. CPO with 1200 miles.

I've been in love with cars my entire life. So much so, that it made up a large part of my career, working in marketing functions for a large VAG dealer group, as well as stop at a highline and exotic online retailer. Admittedly, my true lusts have always centered around Porsche & VW, but when this thick girl popped up on my screen, I couldn't say no.

I've always admired Jaguar's design language and Ian Callum's influence on the automotive world. Looking forward to enjoying this one and taking in advice from a new community. Thanks for the add!

Very cool car, I wish it was available in Canada. My wagon is Subaru, because they are one of the few that still make them.

A quick warning - these direct injection engines are very sensitive to old engine oil. Go above and beyond (and assume that PO did no maintenance).

I'm a wagon weirdo too.

When my old man told me (1973) I'd be driving an (albeit 400 cubic inch) Chevrolet Kingswood Estate Wagon to and from high school I was heartbroken.

Fast forward to junior year and the wayback of that wagon served me & several co-eds quite well.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new Jaguar!
Nuthin wrong with Wagons just because yours happens to be a Jag Wagon! My family had a loooong string of Wagons when I was growing up, I even had one myself for a while. I called it Freight Train.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

V. nice looking wagon. We are also wagon people, probably something to do with being Into antiques and horses... Came to US in 98, purchased Audi A6 Wagon, at 76,000 ran it to 224,000, then Jaguar X-Type 2005 new up to 190,000, Audi S4 V8 Manual 2006 at 169,000 current 226,000. As of friday last week we added a 9,600 mile XF Sportbrake...

Yeh. Our Sport Brake is our most versatile car without a doubt. We also own an F-Pace, because my munchkin wife needs to be higher to see (lol), but my Sport Brake actually holds more stuff. There's just "something" about wagons. I absolutely loved my huge Buick Roadmaster with its vista roof and acres of cargo space.

Personally, I think all SUVs - other than a Suburban - are stupid. And cross-overs are just chopped Wagons with big tires, less space, and worse aerodynamics. I really wish Jag had made the Sport Brake on the XJL platform instead though. Now THAT would have been a no-brainer to buy! Why doesn't anyone make a full size wagon? How about a Merc AMG S-Class wagon? Another nice idea. :-)

Wow, @kayakjim that is a unicorn!
Hi all, just joined the forum after getting an '18 Sportbrake last week. 35K miles and 3 years of warranty left, so it should be a good ride.

Welcome aboard! There's a great gang in here. I like the total black look of yours. Mine came with unpainted wheels. I'll have to go with after-market wheels for the total "look" (if I ever find a set that really "sing" to me).
