Default I've jumped ship...

Hi all,

Well after 10 years I've finally taken the plunge and stepped out of my safety zone. How? well for 10 years I've been a BMW owner through and through and really never believed I would be able to drive anything else.

Unfortunately for BMW they seem to have employed some of the worlds weirdest car designers just recently and I can’t find any new ones that set my heart racing like they used to .

So what to do, well Mercedes are out, I ain’t that old yet . Audi don’t get my vote either, styles ok but what you get for your money is rubbish, everything’s extra . Lexus? Hell no, ‘nuff said . So what else can I get? Guess it'll have to be a not so nice BMW again.

Then it hits me (almost literally, i wasn't watching where i was going ) a sleek, modern machine growls past and I’m intrigued. What the hell was that? Catch it up at the next lights for a look and, wow, it’s a Jag XF, now that’s really nice . Gonna be out of my price range though surely?

Dash into the nearest dealer on the way home just to drool a bit more but, hang on, That can’t be right, I can afford that and what’s more it’s £14k less than the BMW I was going to settle for as a compromise.

Right where do I sign then Mr Salesman and how long do I have to wait for it?

So that’s it, I now have a shiny new XF on my drive (It’s only the luxury 3.0D but I love it) and it’s hard to imagine anything else sitting there now, especially for the price .

But hey I bet you guys are just sitting there, smiling all knowingly 'cos you've all got the Jag bug already and know what I've been missing .

Ok "wall of text" over you'd better ban me now 'cos I do tend to ramble a bit but I'm a nice guy really .

Welcome keggy, great avatar pic too.. I presume thats the one with the rather larger ********* you literally 'chopped' off?

Loved the intro, and hope you enjoy the forums for years to come. You won't have many problems to diagnose/troubleshoot, but you can always show her off with detailing pictures, road trip diaries, and the general off topic stuff is always interesting here. Enjoy!

Thanks for all the welcoming responses, I'll try to get some pics up this weekend, weather permitting, but no promises. I may be out enjoying the car if the weathers good.

And yes Devon cream teas are still great, my waistline will attest to that.
