Default Jaguar owner for the second time around...

After owning a Series III XJ6 for a while about 15 years ago, I've succumbed to temptation in the form of a 1995 XJR. Only fault I've found so far is badly overtightened alternator and blower drive belts, which can only have been done by the 'mechanic' who installed a new alternator for the previous owner. Both belts are now at the correct tension, but the blower belt now only has 6 ribs, not 7. Anyone know the Gates number for this belt?

Thanks for the welcome, gentlemen. And thank you for the part number, Grant.

Edited to add that my local Repco store has the Gates 7PK1095 belt in stock @ $116NZ. (About £60)

Welcome to the forums Ra P Scallion,

Good to have you with us.

I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues. You can also use the New Zealand Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/new-zealand-97/ to find other members in your region.

Please read the guidance for new members ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ned-up-241802/ ) which answers many of the most frequent questions about getting started.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham
