Angry jaguar x type

hi all i am new to this forum and hope i can get some help. I have 2002 x type with 2.5. It was running rough and i took it to a shop they sprayed water around intake and the car would slow down. so it was the bottom intake gasket. They did not have time to fix so i tryed it myself.I changed the lower gasket and now it seems to run even worse seems to be missing does anyone have any ideas what i done wrong oh i also replaced theback 2 plugs thanks kirk

That shop has an interesting approach to diagnostics.

Follow this link X-Type - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the X-Type section for help, advice and information.

Remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User ID button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

are you sure it was water? if so WHY would any one do that.
why have you only changed 2 plugs not all of them.

you sure that was an automotive shop you took the car to? 'cuz it sounds more like a pool / spa shop..... They're the only ones I can think of who might think it's a good idea to spray water at a motor to see if it ingests any.....

Basic repair: if it's worse after your procedure than before, then you need to look at what you did and figure-out why. I'd be interested in why you only changed 2 plugs, not 6? What did you change them with? properly gapped?

I might be inclined to suggest you have water in your plug-wire boots!

Jut a update on my post i changed the back 3 plugs not 2 as my post says sorry. After looking closer i had the back vacum hose wes off.Ran great after installing yes i am a idot lol. Asfar as the water goes i am sure that is not the proper way but i did the same thing when i worked on cars years ago. Just a light mist around gasket and you can hear idol change if there is a leak there. I am sure it is not the right way but it works. Thanks all kirk
