Talking Jaguar X Type CNG Conversion Bi fuel DIESEL

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forum and this is my first post in a foreign language so please excuse my bad language.
I recently bought a new Jaguar X type from 2003 with a Diesel engine and 4 cilinders. I am looking to convert it to natural gas (CNG) for various reasons. (Hybride with diesel and CNG).
I am not looking to save money on gas so its not the point of my conversion. However I would like to know if anyone has already made the conversion from Diesel to CNG and knows if that is at all possible to do on my car.

I have seen a lot of Youtube videos that claims the operation to be complicated but not impossible and I am ready to get the challenge.

Do you know any suppliers that would sell me the kit and the tank?

Thank you in advance,

Welcome to the Forums.

I have no idea, its not done down here.

The members in the X Type Tech Section may have ideas, but the diesels are a rare beast to most markets.

Others will come along with other suggestions when the time zones line up.

Good luck.

Hello, Carmania,
First off, there's Nothing wrong with your English, nor your language.
Congratulations on your new Jaguar. I hope you are successful in your conversion.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

Welcome to the forums Cermania,

Good to have you with us. No problems with your English.

We have a few members who have, or have had LPG conversions (Propane / Butane) but I can't recall reading posts from any who have had CNG (Methane) conversions.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/ to the X-Type forum for help, advice and information. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.

Please add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also uset the Europe Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/europe-42/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Thank you all for your support and your tips. I will add my cars details as requested and post in the right section.
Maybe someone did the conversion and has experience to share.

You are right it is. Normally over 5000€ but a i am planning to do it by myself it should be more reasonnable. I already asked for prices for loose parts and it seems not too expensive but the big questions that remains now is which parts I need (need to make sure it will work for my car).
