Jumping back in the Jag
Back in 2003, I found an affordable E-Type. It's a 1971 Series 3 2+2 coupe, which is on the cheap end of the XKEs. but it has the V-12 that I always wanted and I like coupes.
I bought it from a missile guidance specialist that worked for NASA and he gave me a meticulous litany of every aspect of the car. He took it down to bare metal and gave a 100% guarantee that it was rust free. So far, I've seen nothing to lead me to believe otherwise.
It's a solid car and I now have the income to get everything up to snuff and get her on the road the way that she should be. should make for a delightful Summer.
Here is the pertinent data.
1971 Series III 2+2 E-Type.
Old English White exterior with red interior.
XKE Data - 1S70539 - Jaguar E-Type (XKE) information, articles, photos and register

After owning your car for 10 years you're doubtless *Very* familiar with all its aspects. Probably there are few surprises left for you to discover. Congratulations on your long term relationship.

Welcome to the forum bakerjw,
Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums. 'Affordable' is relative - I thought they were expensive by 2003 but I'd sold mine thirty years before then!
Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/e-type-xk-e-59/ to the E-Type forum for advice, information and to post your own input. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for info on regular issues.
Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.
You can also visit the US Southern Midwest Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/southern-midwest-ar-la-ms-ky-tn-al-67/ to find other members in your region.
Enjoy the forums.
