Hello, why not start by giving us a proper introduction. Let us know a bit more about yourself.

Do you have a Jaguar, if so what, or are you planning on buying one?

Ok so a little about me
Long time cat lover (owned 7 to date)
currently a 2001 XJ8 in excellent condition (be even better when I change the water pump *sigh*) only 68,000 on the clock.....
Used to be in the motor trade, (back in the days when engines were more mechanical than electrical & the biggest shock was from the HT leads not the price of parts).
Been a plumber for 20 years.
Sheesh I thought it was going to be easy to talk about myself.....its tough

Oh real name John

Hi in2, that's a lot better. Yes it used to be that you could repair anything with just 4 spanners and a hammer. Now....

If you are doing the pump yourself, you will find some good folk over in the XJ8 section.

Yeah I'll pop over and look around thanks for the tip

It doesn't look too much of a daunting task...
Wierd with every jag, except one, I have had to change the water pump.(this is my first v8 jag though)

Hey, for a plumber (or ex-plumber) surely a water pump is right up your alley? At least it was a broken solder joint in a control module. Water guys and electricity repairs are almost contradictions in terms.
