Default Just got my first Jag

Hi everyone. I've posted here on a couple of occasions, and just took possession of my first Jag - a 2004 XJ8. It has only 56,000 miles and is immaculate. Will take it to my local Jag dealer for a diagnostic on Boxing Day, and hope for the best. But it seems flawless: vigorous acceleration, the light handling the post-2003's are known for, and a very satisfying growl when I open up the throttle. I'll post some more detailed comments on the X350 forum, but this is simply an introduction. I live in Illinois and have worked and lived in places such as the South Caucasus, Ukraine, and Afghanistan (mostly doing journalism, human rights, and conflict analysis). Am definitely going to baby my Jag! (Love saying those words: "my Jag"!) Am attaching just a couple of quick photos here, more artistically pleasing ones to follow in the coming weeks. Bye for now!

Welcome to the forum Isoruku,

Good to have you with us at Jaguar forums.

Jaguar Dealers in the USA are open on Boxing? Extraordinary - you wouldn't find one open in Europe!

I can see you've already found your way to the X350 tech forum so there's no need for a link to it from me.

Please remember to add vehicle details to your Signature to help others to give relevant advice. Go to the User CP button on the left of the top menu bar, then Settings & Options under Your Control Panel. Select Edit Signature and enter the details.

You can also visit the USA Mid West Region forum by following this link USA Mid West - IL IN IA MI MN MO OH WI - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum
to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

Graham

Welcome from me too. Like your Jag,like the model, thanks for the pics. Congratulations.

"Am definitely going to baby my Jag!" Do you mean detail and service type 'baby it' Because they have a little bit of built in evil and enjoy using it. After a service the apprentice mechanic came for a short drive with me to make sure all was good and his comment was "I never knew they went like this" Everyone he thought drove them like a 'baby'. If it's got it use it I think, occasionally good for me good for the car.

Hope you enjoy the forum,Neil

You're right about that. I meant I'll maintain it religiously and garage it this winter. But yes, I'll definitely drive it the way such a car is meant to be driven.
