Hi guy’s, It’s so good to speak to you all and hopefully get some information from fellow lover’s of this wonderful car. I’m looking to buy my 1st Jaguar and have test driven an XE but I’m leaning more towards an XJ. I spoke to a mechanic Who was more Land Rover about the 3.0 lt engine, is the manifold a very common problem,I believe they crack , and he said turbo’s have some issues. Being an X mechanic I know all cars have problems but would like to come away from my very common MERC and treat myself , I’m looking at 2012 onwards 3.0 diesel under 50,000 miles. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so I can move forward and purchase one. Many thanks Rick.

Welcome to the forums Rick,

With any used Jaguar, provenance is critical. A properly serviced and maintained example is a pleasure to own and drive but a neglected one can be a money pit. Check the history of a potential purchase as carefully as the car.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xe-x760-85/ to the X760 forum for help, advice and information on the XE and this one https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-x351-53/ to the X351 forum for the current XJ.

Good luck in the search for your Jaguar and enjoy the forums.

Graham
