Hi I have just signed up. Own a completely restored XJ6 VDP. Bare metal respray. Runs / drives great. Been doing all of the work on a casual basis.

Now I am in the process of deciding whether to buy new tires in the original size of 215 70 15 or getting new wheels and tires in a larger size. The selection of 15 inch tires is not as large as it used to be. Maybe 17 inch - if I can find ones that fit properly.

 

Hello & welcome ,,,nice to see you here . Sounds like quite a project you took on . I'm an ex motor spray painter ( among many other things ) But Due to age / health , I pay people to do stuff these days . Good luck with wheel /Tyre search . I can see you've already found the Series III tech section. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top there is a good place to start for info on regular issues.

You're right that it's time to get away from 15 inch rims. The tyres are only going to get scarcer and more expensive.
