As a new member and life long Jaguar lover, thought the membership may be interested in my recently completed Lister Jaguar(Knobbly) As a retired Aircraft Maint. Engineer,(Avionics) this is my third build from "scratch " car.
The 4 year build was a challenge but O" so worthwhile. I feel the end product even though it's a left hand drive car (Lister only built RHD cars) is as close to an original as to make no difference.
A couple of trips to the U.K. (Goodwood) for dimensions conformation and location of the many "bitts" was necessary. Took a few liberties on the running gear . Engine is out of 1986 XJ6 (big valve )4.2 with ported cylinder head
with stock E Type cams. .Light weight aluminum fly wheel coupled to a T5 Ford Mustang 5 speed .Rear drive is a BMW 700 series limited slip unit with Nissan 300ZX inboard caliper, CV joints and a Lister style deDion axle.
Front suspension is the Lister style equal length A arms ,uprights are MGC and Ford Grenada 11 1/2 vented disc brake rotors and Willwood 4 piston calipers. QA1 coil over all round. Instrumentation is from Speedhut ,
Wheels are from Trigo, kidney style center knock off peg drive on 205/70/16.tires. Dry weight of the car is 1863 lbs.
I formed the body over a wood buck the old fashioned way, leather bag, mallet and an English wheel in 18swg. 3003 "soft" alli. Tig welded. Chassis is per original Lister in 16swg with a 049"" stressed, bonded and riveted full length undertray.
