Default New here. Looking at the f type

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I want to apologize if I ask questions that have already been asked. I also want to thank you guys for your involvement in this forum because I've Googled many questions about the f type and they brought me here.

I'm looking at a 2014 f type S V8 convertible that has 67k miles. Seems to be in good condition and come with a powertrain warranty for 100k miles. 35,990.

Also, looking at a 2015 f type S v6 coupe with 44k miles. 7 day money back guarantee but only 100 day warranty.

Looking to hear your thoughts. I test drove the v8 and man I fell in love but it's a lot of miles (I assume) and because the inventory shortage the dealer won't budge on price.

Welcome to the Forums.

The F Type Tech Section, a tad further down the hone page, will have lots of suggestions.

Since you in the USA, I will leave members in your market to comment.

SERVICE history, able to be verified is top of any list in my opinion.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Maurice,

As highlighted by Grant, I also believe a comprehensive Service History to be absolutely critical with any used Jaguar. Perhaps a more personal bias is considering that only a V8 is worth having.

Follow this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/f-type-x152-72/ to the F-Type forum for help, advice and information. You can also use the US Lower Atlantic Region forum by following this link https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/u...r-atlantic-66/ to find other members in your region.

Enjoy the forums.

I test drove the V8 yesterday and fell in love. Was just worried about the mileage. It had a good service history and the dealer offered a free 100k mile powertrain warranty. I'm leaning towards that one but wanted to check with the forum to see if it was a good choice. Thanks!

Post Buy one with Service Records

Buy the one with complete, consistent, verifiable service records. Who serviced? Where? When? What was done? There aren't that many places to take a Jag, so it's not like a Chevy where they may have gone to a different Jiffy Lube every 3 months. Jag records are typically at a dealer or quality local shop recognized for working on Jags. It's shouldn't be hard to find them. If you can't get that, unless you're ok being at risk for buying someone else's problems, I'd keep looking. Hidden issues with internals/electronics/trans. can cost $1000's before you can click your fingers. Good luck!
