Default Merry Christmas to me....

I just purchased a 1973/74 Jaguar XJ 12L on Saturday 9, 2017. It's my fourth Jaguar and they all had 350 conversions. I like them 75 or older because no smog to deal with here in SF Bay Area in California. Just put a $240 dollar battery and al l new bulbs/fuses. It needs a lot of work to look decent on the inside. Im looking for parts in my 100 mile radius of SF and a good mechanic for almost everything. Glad to have found this place in search of parts on line.

Congratulations on your Latest Elderly Jaguar!
Mine is ONE MONTH too new to fall under the SMOG-Exempt roof, and sometimes it's Very annoying! However, the Previous owner had it converted to a 350, I only have to keep its breath clean.

I'll look for you over in our Xj6 playroom where Graham has directed you.

Welcome to the forums from ElinorB.

If you put a 350 in it you may as well go the rest of the way and put a 400 sbc in there. Here's a pic.
Blueprint Crate Engines SBC 400ci / 460HP / 470TQ | JEGS
It has almost as much power as the supercharged 305 in my 2012 but a lot less finicky. Since you've already got a 350 putting a 400 in would be easy more than likely.

By the way welcome to the forums. K.G.
