Hello everyone, so my name is Martin, I am the younger brother of Dan, who joined your forum back in March 2016. He had just purchased an XJ6 and was a marvel at engineering, my brother never posted a lot on your forum as he passed away on Christmas Day that year at the ripe old age of 44😢 heart attack snatched him. Anyway I inherited his XJ6 and promised I would complete his list that he had written out to restore the cat. Anyway, 4 years later I am nearly done. Too many points to list and far too much money spent, but what the heck! You can’t take it with you.
so I have a wee problem and need to call on you guys to help, if poss?
my alpine AJ9500R has developed the fault of, once the code is entered, the screen flashes on and off. With no display. Originally it would work for a day or two and then default into fault mode.
I have removed the unit and it still behaves the same way on my desk. Have you got any ideas?? I’ve stripped it down as much as I dare, looking for broken solder joints, but I’m now lost.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.
Martin
I have just hand painted the stripe back on, after having the wings repaired..
I stripped the paint back and polished the wheels.
Good to have you with us. Sorry to hear the shocking news about your brother.
I can see you've already found your way to the X300 forum with the radio0 question so there's no need for a link to it from me. The 'HOW TO' thread at the top is a good place to start for information on regular issues.
