My introduction
Hi All,
As a "proud" owner of a '98 Jag XJR 4.0 SC and a passive member of this community (reading lots and LOTS of other peoples frustrations/comments/ideas/etc.) I have finally something that I need to post on.
About me; Relatively young guy (20yo) working on cars, got 2 mercs and 1 jag. My daily income is designing datacenter infrastructure and everything related to get data from A to B.
About my "lovely" jag. Some guy once thought that this car really needs LPG, so it got that aswell. My lovely previous owner also thought that LOWERING the already low car is a good thing, so it more feels like a low-rider than a proper car. It has about 380k kilometers and arround 200k someone swapped a "new" engine in it with about 40k kms. The interior is not in the best shape you can think of, but it is fine for now. The paintwork is just terrible and it needs a complete overhaul. To ask the question, wat has been done to this car? You better ask; what has NOT been done to this car?
Small list of things that I did so far:
Complete engine overhaul (timing overhaul, supercharger replacement (did a 4.2 s/c), all hoses replaced, intake refurbd, intercoolers thouroughly cleaned of old oils)
both A/C and S/C pump replaced
A/C overhaul including new compressor and condensor
LPG system overhaul including new injectors
Full suspension rework
Transmission valve body rework
and numerous other small and or large things that I cannot think of right now.
The diff is the next big thing to do as it is rumbling quite a lot.
Thank you all.
Regards,
wildcat
